Managed server work is recurring administration for an agreed environment. Discuss supported platforms, access, monitoring, patching and incident responsibilities with DeshTech so that the management boundary is clear.
Discuss Your Project01 / Service fit
Recurring management differs from a one-off setup or a hosting subscription. A provider may manage hardware while the application owner remains responsible for software. Use a responsibility matrix to identify these boundaries and avoid gaps during an incident.
02 / Scope
Record operating systems, hosted applications, ownership and access. Agree which administrative tasks and configuration changes are included and which need separate approval.
Define the update process, maintenance windows, monitoring coverage and alert destination. Monitoring identifies a condition; it does not by itself resolve the cause.
Set escalation contacts, provider boundaries and backup/recovery responsibilities. Response targets and out-of-hours coverage must come from the actual agreement.
03 / Decisions
Write the management boundary across provider, operating system, database and application. List what triggers an alert, who receives it and who is permitted to make a change. An infrastructure account should have documented ownership and recovery access.
04 / Delivery
Begin with the current environment and the business outcome. Agree the responsibilities, deliverables and acceptance criteria before implementation. Work can then be divided into reviewable stages, with changes and dependencies recorded. The handover should identify account ownership, documentation and the route for any separately agreed ongoing support.
List what will be delivered and who accepts it. Include required access, dependencies and any third-party approvals. This creates a shared basis for reviewing progress and changes.
Identify the documentation, accounts and day-to-day tasks the business needs. Ongoing care is separately agreed; it should not rely on an assumption that launch includes unlimited future support.
05 / Budget and responsibilities
Cost depends on the number and condition of systems, platform support, monitoring, patching, incident scope and coverage. Existing faults or unsupported software may require separate remediation before ongoing work begins.
The final proposal determines the supported platforms, included work and operational commitments for this engagement. Third-party licences, subscriptions and provider limitations should be visible in the scope. A clearly defined first stage is more useful than assuming every related task is included.
06 / Get ready
Share the current systems or website, the task you want to improve, the people involved and the intended timeline. Include known constraints and available documentation. Do not send passwords, customer records or sensitive operational details through a public enquiry; access arrangements can be agreed privately.
Questions / Answers
Only the applications and tasks specified in the agreement. Hosting infrastructure, operating systems, databases and website code can have separate owners.
Coverage and response targets must be explicitly agreed. This page does not establish a24/7 support commitment.
Send the current website or system context, the business goal and the required functions through the project enquiry. Scope, dependencies, timing and ownership can then be discussed before a proposal is agreed.
